Why Should I Apologize?
Forgiveness. What is forgiveness?
Is it simple and easy?
Is it complicated and difficult?
Or maybe it’s an ever-changing concept, flowing in the creek of time.
Forgiveness. It isn’t easy for me.
Maybe it’s strange, but it’s hard for me to conceive.
Why should I apologize when I didn’t hear you when you didn’t speak up?
Why should I apologize when I yelled after you insulted me?
Forgiveness. It happens after an apology.
People spout apologies like rogue sprinklers.
They say “sorry” without thinking, say “my bad” without meaning it.
How should I know when it’s real?
Forgiveness. It isn’t easy for me.
It’s hard to forgive myself when I’m drowning in regret.
Why should I forgive myself after I heard wrong?
Why should I forgive myself when I yelled at someone I cared about?
Maybe I should try to be real.
Apologizing. It happens before forgiveness.
People make mistakes constantly like me.
They say “sorry” and “my bad,” they assume they’re the only flaw.
Maybe we should try to be real.
