The Beauty of Being Asleep
Write a poem which could have this as its title.
Unconscious Narrative
When my eyes flutter shut
and blackness rolls over my vision
I transcend
Innermost fears and desires
spring to life like a film
I never have enough control to edit the actions I make in my dreams, but I have a strong enough nudge to push them in a favorable position
Life and death alike spews out
The unconscious machine
I enjoy the forbidden lovers and the forced flying my body endures in my deep sleep
But around the corner are the untimely deaths and the apparitions of my past, haunting me
No regard for my vulnerable state of mind
I push the narrative, making sure of one thing — that I awaken
