The Cracks In The World
2064’s world was eco friendly.
People had really progressed throughout time from 2022. There were polluted oceans then, and littered streets. But now, the oceans and roads are clean. People use electric cars, and bike and walk. It was perfect. Well, almost perfect. The world still had problems; no one just knew it. Until one day.....
Eleanor was taking a walk through the city. There was a lot of green from the plants. Eventually, she reached the giant wall surrounding the city. No one could get in or out. But Eleanor noticed something after looking at it a minute. There were bigger cracks, some even spreading to the ground a bit. She took some pictures of the cracks, and went home again. The NEXT day, Eleanor turned on the news. (The only local school had been crushed by a tiny meteor a few months ago, and they’re still building it, so school was cancelled for a while) and found out the cracks had spread even further and were covering half of the city.
Then, the NEXT day, Eleanor went out to see the cracks and was shocked to see people running around, screaming. The authorities tried to calm down, but no one really noticed. She turned around to get her dad, (BTW, her mom died suddenly a few years ago because of something I might put in another story, but maybe not) but her dad was already out the door, grabbing Eleanor’s hand as he ran. The ground starting splitting apart, breaking into two giant pieces. Luckily, Eleanor and her dad were on the same side, but apparently, everyone else was on the other side. The two halves drifted away from each other, into space. Eleanor has no idea where the other side went, but she and her dad floated into a bigger planet nearby, covered with fog. It turns out, the eco friendly planet had been secretly using gas to power the pollution less factories there, and took it to this planet. Eleanor and her dad lived there the rest of their lives, but Eleanor couldn’t sleep the first night. She kept thinking about the secret. It turns out, there were too many cracks in their world.
