Ethan And Cam Spy On A Date

“This is stupid.” Ethan said, looking down at the wet mud now splattered on his new trainers.

“Stupid for you maybe. This could be some incredible gossip that will gain us some credit at school tomorrow.” Can replied.

“So by spying on this girl and some guy that gives us credit with the others?” Ethan asked, his confusion clear in his voice. Back in the academy he had never known about secrets holding value, none that involved the people he knew anyway.

“Some of her friends think these two are secretly dating. We are the ones who can prove it.” Cam explained. “It’s like we are journalists.”

“What a terrible analogy.”

“No it’s not. It’s exactly what journalists do.”

“Maybe the terrible ones.”

“We’ll have you got anything better that we can be doing.”

Ethan listed a dozen things in his mind that was better than crouching in wet mud in the evening but he needed to spend more time with Cam. His mission was to uncover all he could about what Cam was doing before moving here and according to Liam the only way to do that was becoming friends with him.

The two kept to the bushes and followed Evie and Jack as they walked. Neither were talking loud enough for Ethan to hear but Cam appeared entranced in the conversation. Ethan would have felt left out if he cared even slightly about what they were talking about.

“They are talking about the pep rally last week. Something about hiding under the stands.” Cam murmured, Ethan making a talking motion with his hand.

“That’s our plan. We catch them there with proof and we can blag our way to one of her next parties.” Cam said, more excitement on his voice than Ethan had ever heard. “You have got parties in England?”

“Yes of course we do. I haven’t ever been to one but they exist.” Ethan said.

“Well then we need to educate you on how much fun they are and this is our only way in. So chin up and let’s find some good goss.” Cam chuckled as Ethan rolled his eyes and agreed.
