Use this sentence as the opening or closing line of a story or poem.

The Sinking

I should have never gone down this rabbit hole

Honey please tell me what to do

How can I fix this mess without ruining you too

Yes I did the only thing you begged me not to do

And my slip will cost us

Tear our pictures stuck by glue

From our kitchen window her grass looked greener

Eight years wasted

Eight years gone

I should’ve known anything but ours could only be a barren lawn

Please tell me you’ll throw a rope

Hoist me out

I thought I could escape unseen

But there is no other route

I can feel the walls begin to crumble

Soon they will collapse

Everything will narrow

God please don’t keep me trapped

I should have never gone down this rabbit hole

I’m not sure what I was thinking

I lost all control

And now I just can’t stop the sinking
