Is It Over Yet?
Sunday morning church
Your belly begins to growl
Uncomfortable dress clothes
The preacher on the prowl.
Family road trips
How long til we are there?
Mom she’s touching me!
Think I’m about to swear.
Days of chauffeuring
New driver’s license in hand
Your graduation from high school
Finding that perfect man.
Waiting on a baby
Who doesn’t know she’s overdue.
Sleepless nights
And gross baby spew.
On to teenage attitude
Think their smarter than you
You know nothing
Embarrassed by every single thing you do
Waiting at the window
It’s almost curfew time
All the what if scenarios
Playing through your mind.
Different moments throughout a lifetime
That seemed would never end
Each day a new torture
Time was not your friend.
But hold onto all these moments
Be grateful for it all
Because life humbles us as we grow older,
Only memories to recall.
