The Wanderer
When she comes to you crying,
Be there for her, but don’t believe her.
She’s not who she says she is.
Her heart will scream out,
That she is nothing.
She will call herself worthless,
Throwing herself on the ground in a daze.
Do not listen to her claims,
She is lost behind the veil of self hatred.
When she looks in the mirror
She sees a puke green monster
With thick bile dripping from its lips.
When she speaks, her voice is gentle
Yet all she hears is rough gurgling,
Like a squirrel drowning in a bird bath.
Nothing you say will sway her conviction
For her delusions are fact in her mind.
Just be there for her,
A shoulder to cry on, an ear to confess to.
Hold strong to the truth, and do what you can.
