A Privileged Witness

“I saw what you did last night. And I’ve told you everyone.” Gary said before walking to his car.

When Gary pulled out of Stan’s driveway, he knew that Stan would want to shut him up. Stan wouldn’t want the police to find out that he was at Leslie’s house while she was vacationing in Europe. It was common knowledge that she was out of the country.

At twenty-nine, Gary had it all. He was a good -looking, tall , muscular man with short blonde hair. He had enherited a fortune when his dad died in a house fire when he was four. His mom put him in the best boarding schools in the state, where he excelled. After graduating from high school, he went to Princeton and majored in business.

After witnessing the crime, Gary went home and locked all the doors. He regretted confronting Stan . Stan had a quick temper and was unpredictable. After locking the doors, Gary weighed his options. The only smart thing to do was to go to the police station and report what he knew.

The Greensdale Police Department was in the same upscale neighborhood where Gary lived. Gary got back in his red Porche and drove twenty blocks to the precinct. To be cautious, Gary was mindful and kept looking through his rear view mirror to make sure he wasn’t being followed.
