Write a free verse poem from the voice of someone who feels resentful.
Free verse poetry does not have a structured rhyme scheme, can have lines of irregular length, and does not have to keep to a regular meter.
That Lesson From Someone Else
We’re supposed to be
Booed up
I should have known
That wouldn’t be the case
You’re so busy thinkin’
About you and them
While you pretend we
Will ever be an us
What’s it like
Having your love returned
And not thrown away?
I’d like to find out
For myself!
But since you’re
Obviously preoccupied
I’ll have to learn THAT
From someone else!
