Our love was like fire and ice,
The intensity caught me off guard,
As the blows were inhumane.
Our love had its boundaries,
Tip toeing around our words,
Only to start over again.
We loved so fiercely,
Allowing volcanoes to erupt,
As we began to simmer down.
But now we’ll be left with ashes,
As our love burns us to the ground.
We’ll be left with unspoken silences, empty thoughts, distracted emotions,
As we let our love fade,
Only to begin anew.
