Stars
I walked towards the edge of the cliff taking in the last words that Zeus has said, “I didn’t think about that.”
“You don’t think about anything.”
“No truer words could have been spoken Zeus,” I laughed into a wheeze. I jabbed his arm with my elbow and stared off into the sky.
“Whatcha looking at,” Zeus said, looking up with me.
I sat down on the ledge of the clif as I responded. “Oh um just at the sky,” I then turned to him and asked, “Did you know there were things called stars up there once?”
“Stars? What are those?”
I laughed and echoed his words, “Stars. What were those.”
“Yeah what are those?” He repeated, looking at me before taking a seat next to me.
“Didn’t your parents tell you about them when you were young?” I asked before continuing. “Before ‘The Quinne’ took them all away to another galaxy, there used to be little dots of light in the sky. They weren’t actually dots though. Stars were clusters of gasses or something that were just very far away from us.”
“Gasses huh?” He said before turning to look at me. “You know what? You’re a gas.” With that he stood up and took off running.
