Rayburn Greyhead, a honored man within the magick community of Britain for his astounding magickal stamina, is rather bored with his life. Having made a decision 6 years ago, though, he cannot leave his position and must survive with the nightly opium pills to guard his dreams.

When a new case brings out his former childhood friend, Oswald Burtrom, his dull life turns upside down as the two must work together to find out a mystery that has been killing magickers all over Britain.

Though, after all these years, Rayburn still seems to be falling for Oswald’s old charm that reeled him in that long ago.
