POEM STARTER
Write a poem with the title ‘Clear as Crystal’.
Images of clarity and purity are often associated with religious or romantic writing. You may follow tradition, or perhaps you could invert this imagery.
Clear As Crystal
I can see you now
Clear as day
I must have been blinded before
With all my adoration
Now all that’s left is frustration
A longing for what once was
Tell me what have we become
Where there used to be so much love
Now sits this hate
And you may think that’s okay
But I can see
See how you’re unwinding
Dying inside
Hating to admit that I was right
No longer putting up a fight
Where did the love go
Nobody knows
