I was sleeping in parents room

All of a sudden I felt the need to wake up

I slowly opened my eyes

My body became aware

I just laid there and listened to my surroundings

I heard rustling and moving

I heard slight sobs downstairs

I was too tired but curious

I heard someone slowly walking up the stairs

It was my dad

I could tell by his pace

Slow and steady

He came in and said,
