The Lottery Winner

I just met the happiest person in the world! She was running down the street, a look of anxiousness in her youthful face, grasping a tiny piece of paper.

"I won, I won, I actually won!" She screamed through happy tears. Her waist length hair was golden in the sun, flowing through the slight breeze she caused with her legs.

People stopped, watching with intent, curiosity, perhaps fear of this lunatic weaving amongst them.

I quickly grabbed her arm as she passed me, swinging her around and falling to the ground only to be pulled down and land on top of her.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" I said.

"No worries!" Was her unexpected reply. I held her wrist to pull her up once I gained my balance.

"Nothing can ruin this day." She beamed. "I won the lottery!" She held out her ticket as proof.

" You can't be running around letting everybody know this! They will steal the ticket right out of your hand, this is worth millions of dollars!"

I took the ticket from her planning to fold it in half and put it in her pocket when I glanced down at it it claimed 'You have won $50.'

I looked at her with a furrowed brow and said, " But you only won the $50 lottery?"

She beamed at me and said, "Yes I know! But now my children and I can eat."
