Collusion

“Great Drakon, for the crimes you have committed against the northern dominance you shall suffer the ultimate price, death,” I read to the Great Drakon. He was a 15 foot scaly humanoid with huge dragon wings who can breath dragon fire up to 80 feet. “All attempts to resist will be met with utmost force.”

“And what can a puny human like you do to me, The Great Drakon?” He boomed.

“Ah, but I’m no ordinary human, I am the greatest Drakon hunter in world!” I called back while pulling out my biggest sword, readying myself for battle.

*Knock*

*Knock*

The Great Drakon pulled out his wing unfurled it towards me. I started to swing my sword when it got close, but the sword couldn’t pierce his scales. He picked me up and dropped me in a hole.

“Come in,” the Great Drakon called.

“Has that little upstart Drakon hunter been dealt with?” An annoyed voice asked the Drakon. I knew that voice, in fact I had just recently heard it but I couldn’t place it.

“Of course my great king,” The Drakon boomed. The king is who gave me the mission to kill the Great Drakon. “That little pest wasn’t even a bother!”

“Great! This way of taking care of him is muck simpler than other options.” The king said. I was shocked. The most beloved king in all of the history of the northern dominance colluded with the most feared Drakon in all the land. I wondered if the Drakon was really that bad because he saved my life apparently.

“Let me know when you want to get me another tasty morsel.” The booming voice of the Drakon said.

“Alright, my business here is done.” The king called back and left.

The Drakon picked me up, brought me to another entrance, and said urgently, “Go to another dominance and lay low. You should be able to escape the king.” I started going but I turned back briefly to say thanks, then I booked it out of there.

I went to the western dominance and set up a small blacksmithing shop there. I also changed my name. I got a nice life and and a wonderful family. I thanked the Drakon everyday and I never went back to the northern dominance.
