!!!Just You Wait!!!

β€œHoly shit, Bri, how did you find thβ€”!?”

β€œ_Shhhh!” _Brianna scolded. β€œIf Mr. Jay finds out, we’ll be dead!”

The hooded figure looked down and stared into the backpack once more. He looked as though he wanted to take what was contained inside and run. That would be a foolish move. There are a lot of people busying the stretching halls at this very moment, and if they saw, the two would no doubt gain a crowd. They knew this because it has happened last time, and there was no way Brianna was gunna let her β€œpartner” screw it up again.

β€œThese were hard to come by, Richy,” she explained, her voice a whisper. The figure, roughly her height leaned closer. β€œI might have even had to get into some trouble for them this time . . .”

β€œWhat _kind _of trouble?” He asked. The girl grabbed the bag back and gripped it tightly.

β€œLet’s just say, some one else wanted it almost as badly as us.”

His eyes went wide, she could see as he looked around to make sure nobody was listening. They needed to remain like shadows. Shadows, that passerby’s with unhinged attitudes new existed, but kept on with their day because shadows are harmless. If only they really knew what the two were _really _up to . . .

β€œWhat time is it?” The girl asked.

β€œNearly 1:00,” he answered.

They didn’t have much time left. Getting back to where they were supposed to be, untouched, was their next task β€” a dangerous one, no less. People here were more than harmful. They were like raging wolves. They all had their own packs, and if you ever found yourself trespassing, well then you just hope the consequences weren’t so severe. Other times you’d simply be minding your own business, and one of the packs would get hungry. Of course, since you’re the only unfamiliar thing, they naturally prey on you β€” us.

Especially if it’s the Prowlers β€” the infamous gang known for their brutality and β€œno mercy” tendencies. They’re the ones that own these halls. If the two were lucky, they would escape without being spotted just the same as how they entered.

Brianna and Richy would’ve done this exchange somewhere else, but they had tried doing it in their assigned part of the building before, and it hadn’t gone well. Hopefully since they chose the most dangerous hall in the whole school, their compadres wouldn’t find them β€” the _high_ _schoolers_ _dwellings_ . . .

The high schoolers were known for their unpredictability. One day they’re perfect angels, then the next, they were graffitiing all the lockers and walls of the school. Just imagine how the Middles β€” the name given to the Middle Schoolers β€” would react if they all found out Brianna and Richy survived the High Schoolers Wing! They would be praised, adored! There would be no more stealing snacks! No more spitting into their hair! No more name calling! No more of _nothing _because they would beβ€”

β€œDead.” Richy’s tugging on her arm, pulling her back to reality. β€œWe’re so dead, Bri.” Then she saw it.

The _Prowlers_. But not just them β€” some of the Middles, too! They were staring right at the boy and girl, stalking their prey.

β€œShit . . .” was all Bri managed.

β€œWhat are you little ants doing here?” The leader of the Prowlers β€” Hill β€” asked. His nostrils flared and walked like a drunk towards them.

β€œWeβ€” weβ€” I—” Richy stammered. All this did was make more of a fool of the two. The Prowlers laughed.

β€œThe bag!” One of the Middles yelled and pointed. β€œI _told _you they were up to something!”

Bri clutched her backpack tight to her chest. β€œLeave us alone, Hill, we were just leaving.”

His gang behind him laughed. β€œOh, I don’t think so. You’re not leaving until you give us that bagβ€”!”

β€œ_No_β€”!” Bri yelled as Hill launched out like a cobra and snatched the bag away from her. Richy was staring in horror at the scene. The coward.

β€œYou two are so screwed,” Gilbert said β€” one of the Middles. He’d been bullying them since the first grade.

β€œOoh! What do we have here?” Hill with the bad haircut reached his grimy fingers into the backpack and pulled out a large candy bag.

Richy turned to Bri with a look that spoke it all β€” _this is the end, Bri_.

The Middles and Prowlers all gasped at the amount of candy. This was what Bri and Richy feared. Nothing could ever stop a group of hormonal teens from their cravings of sweets! At least the two kids would have a story to tell afterwards. The story of how, despite restling an old lady with turrets and an odd disorder that made her frail self want candy that would most likely break what was left of her teeth and braces the hallways of the High Schoolers Den, they had still lost their preciousess. But this wouldn’t be the last time! One day Bri and Richy would be older and _they _would be who everyone feared!

This was no loss . . . This was two future villain’s origin stories . . .
