POEM STARTER

“Falling feels like flying until the moment that you land.”

Compose a poem that uses this quote as the central theme.

The Falling Feeling

Falling feels like flying,

until the moment that you land.

Weightless, breathless, soaring high,

above the world, a bird, unplanned.

A sense of freedom, weightless light,

but then the ground is in your sight.

You land, a thud, a sudden stop,

The falling feeling now does drop.

The joy and thrill have come to pass,

Yet, still, you're left with just a gasp.

And so it goes, the ebb and flow,

From soaring heights, to falling low.

As you come down from the high,

You feel a sinking in your mind.

The landing brings a sudden pause,

A stillness, like a quiet cause.

The moment lingers, not too long,

But leaves a mark, it feels so strong.

The falling feeling, though it's passed,

Leaves memories that will last.

You'll never forget that rush of joy,

That came from falling, like a toy.

It's something special, that you'll keep,

A memory, unique and deep.

Yet as time goes by, you know,

The memory will start to go.

It'll fade away, and soon be gone,

The feeling not as strong, not long.

But then, one day, you'll feel it back,

When you fall again, an unexpected knack.

The falling feeling, it returns,

A sense of freedom, it discerns.

And so it goes, on and on,

The falling feeling, rising strong.

It never ends, this cycle true,

From soaring heights, to falling through.
