A World Like No Other
It was with little ease getting there but it was absolutely worth it.
Just minutes ago it was my boyfriend and I trekking through this valley. It was a place, he said, that had the most amazing of views and boy was he right. Looking out at the valley below, it seemed to go on for miles. It felt like miles to be fair.
And just as we reached the peak of the mountain, the sunset bloomed. It painted the scene in ravishing reds and bright oranges, making it as though lava had overtook the sky.
As the sunset ended I was beginning to think that it couldn’t get better. But my boyfriend was determined to proved me wrong. Taking my hand he turned my attention to him and I was met with a surprise.
On the floor was a navy blue blanket and some fluffy pillows.
“The sunset is just the top of the iceberg,” he smiled, “close your eyes until I say.”
He led me to the blanket and I laid down, almost bursting with anticipation.
“Ok, open”
I was left breathless as I gazed upon the sight before me. Looking up at the sky above I felt like I looking at the galaxy itself. Millions of stars, bright, dull, close and far, were shining.
“Just wait,” he laughed, “it should start any minute”
There, a shooting star. Following in its footsteps were hundreds more. No, not a shooting star, meteors! They created streaks of light as they sped past earth.
It was a world like no other.
