She Found Herself

I had nowhere to go the sun was beaming down on my face as I looked up to the sky with squinting eyes. How did I manage to end up here when just last week I was about to get married in my hometown of LA. If I could talk about this now I would but I need to keep moving I say to the stranger I just met in the middle of nowhere. There is a random breeze that swifts through the strangers long brown hair he has a worried but humbled look on his face and our blue eyes meet one another. “I’m sorry” he replies as he takes a step back “if there’s anything I can do” I reply quickly “no thank you”

My car is 100 yards away so I start walking towards it hoping to get some kind of shelter from this hot beaming sun I need to continue my journey where most of my childhood was lived. My parents were both gone it was just me but I still owned our summer house down by the lake in the hidden spring mountains. It was set on a 500 acre land with miles and miles of lake and forest behind us. You could truly get lost out there that’s why we would never leave the trail when exploring. When I look at my phone there’s a notification and it reads “Murder in the hidden spring mountains, still unknown of killers whereabouts” but it does have some information on the killer which sounds familiar to the stranger I just crossed paths with.. what could possibly go wrong I start to tense and feel a sense of shock wash over me. Did I just talk to the killer?
