You look at me with curiosity and love in your eyes. I can only wonder what your life before me was like, as I know what mine was like without you. I watch as you situate yourself, amongst my papers thrown about the desk, as if to say I am done my work for the day. I can only oblige, gently petting your forehead as you drift to sleep, peeking your eyes open if I go to leave. A heavy sigh leaves you and I know you are asleep, able to find comfort as long as you are by my side.
