Not pausing for breath,

As we danced through the night

To tango with death

The gods playing chess

Writing fate with the stars,

The thrill, I confess

Pulled at my heart

Souls intertwined

In a play still unread,

To walk through time

That had already, been spent

Your hand slipped away

As death took his dance.

Whisking you from me

The rhythm too fast

I fell too my knees

And the fall never stopped

Deafened by silence

Your footsteps now lost

I peer up to the Gods,

Through rain stricken eyes

Looking for peace,

As they take, a roll of the dice

The sky full of stars seemed dead and cold;

a place once so magical now hurt to behold
