POEM STARTER

Write a poem about something a young child wants very badly but cannot have.

Consider your language use for the chosen age of the child and choose a specific style of poetry that would be suitable for this prompt.

Obedient Vegetables

No, you cannot

Add ice cream to the cart

I will not buy a gallon of pop tarts

Or chips that taste like lemonade

I feel bad for who ever paid for those!

Instead I’ll buy you vegetables

That do not cook until they’re told

Strange as it may seem,

they have their own team!
