For The Queen

Stepping out of the elevator on the floor, mostly unknown to the important, I head back towards her sacred room with the assignment and the surprising gift. It appears I’ve become desperately attracted to her, I want to be in every space she dwells. Though she is dead, her energy keeps her alive as her soft skin of youth rejuvenates through her daily blood intake. She’s looked the same for centuries possessing the beautiful hair of black silk and eyes of gold. Her skin contains only one impurity as she’s told, in a place we’d never be allowed to see. We are her pieces that she plays amongst the board, as I too haven’t a clue of where my audacity to see her in this light originates.

“ Here it is” I hand over the folder of evidence as she appears stern, rising from her resting sitting position on a rug. She begins a slight smirk “ What does it look like?” “ If you ask me, it looks really bad but I am confused.” “What makes you come to the conclusion of confusion?” She picks up the thick folder cracking it open. “ The body is burnt. I’m not sure how to properly identify her though they claim it is definitely her.” “ Her last whereabouts indicate this would be the sea she would have gone. I completely agree with your confusion because who would have done this to her if it wasn’t me? Hmm?” She states with her powerful voice in a delicate manner. “ We’re still trying to figure that out but it is very possible she failed with the society-” “ Oh I’m sure.” She says closing the folder laying it back onto the table. “ They want me to believe that they punished her, however something tells me she is alive and well. Why? Because it looks ridiculous. While the evidence is poor, we will find her because I believe she has a few things that don’t belong to her.” “That was another thing. I had an idea that she used something of the energy which caused her death to be this.” “ That is a valid point..” she smirks as I know she hasn’t thought of this notion. I stare at her full deep red lips as a reminder of the other thing my heart would like to offer.

I pull out a porcelain rose of gold metal and jade stone. Handing it to her, I slightly bow towards her, now looking to her red heels.

“What is this?” She inquires in surprise. “ For you my love..”My heart begins to race as I can only dream of her satisfaction and acceptance. “Raise yourself.” She declares and so I follow the order. “ If this isn’t part of the evidence, what would this be a part of?” “ My heart.. A piece of it you can have, while filled with compassion for you. I’d like to spend eternity with you-“ “ I would break it but rather I want you to get your money back because you’re a great employee.”

My heart sinks to the bottom of the ocean within me, holding the tears from it from coming out. It is as I expected almost. She is of class around the clock. It appears there isn’t a pause to her elegance and standards. “ I understand” I look down to the side naturally. “ Please return this to the gift shop and never think of this idea again.-“ She reminds. With a rage of outburst I possess “ Why?! Why can’t you just accept it? You’re afraid of love for- “ “ You are the pathetic leaf of a tree that falls and perishes. Your outburst is so humanely rooted, you dare question my moralities. You’re creating a bigger hole in your heart that I ever could as I wonder what you expected me to say. But yet I don’t wonder because you’re not worth that. You have one job and when you’re finished you go home to the house I’ve allowed for you.” “ I apologize.. I don’t want to work for you anymore.” “ .. How unfortunate. You come to me with lacking evidence and potential implications and excuses. You’ve played around enough. If I don’t see you back with more by the end of this week then you prove your real position in the world.”

While so beautifully radiant on the outside.. I don’t know where this darkness shines from here, piercing through her pores. Where does this nasty hatred come from? Yet I know where it does. I don’t fully understand it.. but it can create great room for only pain.

“ You know what may help me to feel any reciprocal love towards you? If you give me the world instead of a single rose from its billions of gardens..” she finishes.

“ Yes ma’am.” I bow my head. She isn’t the typical woman I can walk away from and not return. There exists an invisible thick chain of the heaviest metal and a set of hand cuffs placed on my heart. She could be right. These are only human concepts. She claims I wouldn’t feel anything so long as I refrain from allowing it. However the crowd of the monsters are just as much in love. “What would make me any different?” I drop the rose to its shatter in pieces from my weak hand, as I step closer to the elevator taking the most of time.
