An Endless Cycle

We always start on a high,

Setting new goals and socialising.

It takes a long time,

But it’s over eventually.

We are tired next,

All the talking takes it’s toll.

It is not too sorrowful,

The sun sets later and later.

There might be a new hope,

Thanks to the start of some new beginnings.

The flowers sprout, the birds sing louder,

The warmth thaws our frozen hearts.

This might be most cheerful,

For all you religious folks.

I never understood why you celebrate,

Your Christ’s death.

Now our hearts are dripping,

The frost has melted.

Birds sing, lambs bleat,

The flowers are all blooming.

The sun sets so late,

We enjoy the longer days.

We go out with friends,

We enjoy the colourful landscapes.

The heat is bearable for most,

The children laugh with melting ice creams.

School is over now,

Everyone is having fun.

It is hot,

We always have fans.

The ice cream has melted,

And most stay indoors.

School is back now,

Where did the time go?

Some say this is a new beginning,

There are so many restarts.

The sun sets later now,

And everyone is in a spooky mood.

The veil is thin,

And the undead come to play.

It is dark,

It is colder.

Not too cold, though,

We can still enjoy ourselves.

The end is very fun,

There are many celebrations.

Everyone is shocked,

It went by so fast!
