Ghost Town

I look around with sorrow eyes as I can see the time that has passed by. The fingertips of my childhood engraved all around, on the swingset, the slide and even the ground. The laughter echoes from the inside and out, while the memories flood. I can still hear the “tick, tick, tick” of the clock counting down the seconds till recess. The highlight of my day, core memories being made, the coveted segment of freedom from inside away from those headaching lights. I can feel the smiles from ear to ear even though now they seem out of reach.

It’s funny how I haven’t had that much fun since then, nothing could ever compare to the sound of joyous children. Now the scilence is so thick I can hardly hear it.

The abandoned playground, haunted by the loss of love. Left alone to warp in the sun. A ghost town, as it sits alone.
