“I knew it! You have been cheating on me!” Tears filled her eyes and his eyes went wide.

“What?! No! Darling I love you and only you!” He said, eyes wide in shock.

“You told me you were out with your best friend, but I met him at the mall to get you a Christmas gift this afternoon!” She sobbed and he wrapped her in his arms. She stepped back and slapped him hard.

“You don’t understand!” I said, eyes watering.

“Then explain.”

He stepped back and shot a blast of light up. “I’m the hero on TV.”

“Tha-“ she stepped back and shook her head. “You know the villian has the same powers? You could be either!”

“The villian is a girl. And how would you know what powers she has? It’s never on the TV.” He saw the blast of light before his world went black
