Wildflower
I was bumbling around in nature today,
Fascinated by the endless green pastures,
The symphony of bird calls around me,
The tranquility of it all a salve to my jitters.
Walking perpetually on the treacherous path,
With the crunch of gravel beneath my shoes,
The sole company that stayed with me,
I was happy, yet anxious, to finally let loose.
I felt like a stranger in the life I lived in,
Wanting to be someone else, someone remembered,
An artist that stays true to wanderlust,
Or a simple girl finally unencumbered.
I found myself lost in this vast world of beauty,
Trying to find my way to somewhere I belong,
I don't want to stick out like a weed in a field of wildflowers,
I want to be the bloom that was thriving all summer long.
