i laughed, hair falling over my eyes, as i stumbled inside. Today has been my 21st birthday, so obviously i was drunk as hell. I stood up straight, bumping my head on the door, as i remembered my lovely best friend who drove me home. I waved and tucked my hair behind my ears.

I closed the door as i lugged a giant bag with my presents in it into my room. Naturally, i dumped it all on the floor. As i sifted through clothes, gift cards, wine, all that stuff, i noticed an unopened gift box that i didn’t remember seeing back at the restaurant or bar.

It was in a beautiful shiny black and white box with a small blue bow in the corner. I tore the lid off a gaped at what was inside.

It was literally a map. Like ok but what am i supposed to do with a Jake and the Neverland Pirates map?

As i tried to take a closer look at where it was, a sharp throb resounded in my head. And of course, it didn’t stop. I tried to look at it again, thinking i recognized it, but i had to drop it to slowly massage my temples. I groaned as i gripped my desk chair next to my bed to get off the floor.

Nearly forgetting about that strange map, i flipped the light off, flopped into bed, and promptly passed out.

God, it was almost laughable, if not for the cruel irony of the next morning when i discovered what the map really showed.
