friendships change and loss and hurt can devour

like a piece of sandpaper, slowly wearing down your patience

but tonight was a movie.

just the right amount of drama

of old friends and new

of music that makes you want to move

and drugs that make you want to share

it’s the first time i’ve had fun in a while

and everything is just as it was meant to be
