POEM STARTER
Write a free verse poem from the voice of someone who feels resentful.
Free verse poetry does not have a structured rhyme scheme, can have lines of irregular length, and does not have to keep to a regular meter.
Auntie
I remember when we first met,
When her hand touched my face
When she smiled warmly at us around the dinner table
And when she seemed at peace
I remeber, too, how quickly it ended
When my mother closed the door and left for the night
When my father stepped out to smoke
When she scolded me for how I ate, for my teeth and my waist.
When she said my sister was had a better face.
How could of love my aunt who was disgusted by my ever move.
How I resent her so for her treatment towards me
