WRITING OBSTACLE
Describe the colours of a beautiful landscape WITHOUT stating any real colours.
You may use imagery, similes, shade and tone etc, but do not use the words for any real colours.
Sol
The sky glows brightly behind the darkened landscape, skyscrapers like monoliths rise up in competition. They reflect back the apricot skies on their shiny exterior, creating a mirage of color. The lush hills fill out the background, vibrant hues of chlorohyll dulled by the waning light. During the day, the sky cannot hold a light to the radiance of the land; a spectrum of colors bursting vividly from the vines and bushes. Homes of shimmering metals, stand neutral against the colors born of the earth, letting them stand bold under the sun. But at night, the land turns to ash under the glow of the heavens. Sol makes her dramatic exit, like tumeric tea spilled across the horizon. And when she leaves, she takes the beauty with her plunging us in the mystery of darkness.
