My Kitchen Floor
A lone piece of sand remains,
forgetting a life previously lived—
the depth and beauty of the tapestry
from which it came. Would you
believe it if I told you, you chose
to come here? To this place?
Separate, but deeply connected.
That your soul has a heartbeat
matching the rhythm of God?
That you, too, make up all
the beaches and oceans
of the world.
