A Horrible Good-bye

I see her die. I see my best friend. . . die. Her dead body lies on the ground. I couldn’t say bye. All the sound fades away. I begin to suffocate and I take huge gasps. Tears threaten to fall. Pierre puts his hand around me in a comforting manner. I choke on my sobs. I can’t contain it in anymore. I turn and bury my face in Pierre’s shirt. As he wraps both his hands around my waist, i begin to cry. He comforts me. I can’t believe it. My best friend died. But, this was only the beginning. Many moer lives would be lost. It can be my mother, Pierre, or even me. People would leave thier loved ones without a good-bye. thier loved ones would grieve for a long time. But, soon, this would be a regular habit. People would die and thier loved ones would get over it quickly. Death would become a regular activity. After all, this was WAR. . . .
