POEM STARTER

Write a poem with the title ‘Clear as Crystal’.

Images of clarity and purity are often associated with religious or romantic writing. You may follow tradition, or perhaps you could invert this imagery.

Lost Flames

My haunting fear comes and claims

Throwing me into the lost flames

I’m losing myself, everything that’s mine

I don’t know when will I ever be fine

I guess I was just never here mentally

Always wandering around, in search of the key

The key to escape from the reality

It’s got me locked, none of it can leave

Dark and gray, leaving me to grieve

All my thoughts are calling me names

As I throw them into the lost flames
