The spell broke, and just like that, she could see everything with fresh eyes. Her plaguing thoughs cleared instantly, a realization emerging like the rushing water pounding against a dam, released from its clutches. The self-inflicted curse which dwelled within her dissipated at last, dragging away any remaining justification towards her previous object of adoration. He, whom she’d willingly followed, assisted, and even worshiped, had not ever returned her favors. Devoid of genuine love and projecting false promises in an attempt at manipulation, he had captured her. The weak heart inside her thumped at the thought of him, threatening to burst in his presence. Yet, he, she had felt, happened to be internally calm, which easily influenced his indifferent exterior. Her now throbbing mind had come to a halt as she soothed herself with the newfound understanding that she fad fallen out of a false love.
