POEM STARTER
Out of Reach
Write a poem about something that always seems just out of reach.
Unspoken Rules
I wasn't told to to stay, but I knew I had to
There were no clear signs of restriction, but I knew this room lacked room
Though nobody ruled it, we didn't break this unspoken taboo
The elders spoke of soaring through a vast sea
Never truly questioning what it means to be free
I was born here, that question never truly bothered me
There are no walls stopping us, as far as I can see
You expect me to believe we're tapped in an invisible barrier? That's a mind trick
After hearing all these folktales, that's what you might think
I'm happy with my treasure chest atop the island
