The cost I pay to keep the picture right,

to play the colors back and forth in mind,

to never forget smiles of those who passed

on from this place, with their greetings,

and how they would show care without effort.

They always did the right thing by nature

like gardens carefully trimmed to keep trees and bushes growing blueberries and apples.

The fruits of their labor as jewels atop their invisible crowns, a sign of their nobility.
