Write a story where a misunderstanding leads to bad consequences.

It could be a small part of your story, or the whole plot could depend on it.

Light footsteps padded against the carpeted floor of Isa and Jack’s shared apartment. Jack’s muffled voice could be heard from within the pair’s shared bedroom, the walls being just thin enough that when Isa pressed her ear up to the door she could make sense of the conversation Jack was having on his phone. “Dress nicely ok? I have to leave my phone at my buddy’s place so Isa won’t come looking for me” A scared expression passed over Isa’s face as she continued listening to the conversation, trying to figure out who Jack could be talking to. “Yeah, got it. See you tonight _Mina_” Isa’s emotions skyrocketed, she was sad, angry, confused, why would Jack be meeting with her best friend somewhere where not only they had to ‘dress nicely’ but also somewhere Isa can’t be allowed to track them to. Slamming the door open, Isa’s anger was made immediately apparent to Jack, who was filled with confusion as to why she could be so upset. “Isa, what’s wro-“ Isa cut him off mid sentence, “No! What’s wrong with you?! Does two years together mean nothing to you?” Tears pricked the the corners of Isa’s eyes as she shouted. Jack sighed, massaging his temples with his thumb and middle finger. “Isa please just let me explain” Jack pleaded, moving his hands to rest on the girl’s shoulders. Isa closed her eyes tight, shoving his hands away from her. “No, we’re done” she said sternly, turning away and swiftly leaving the room, grabbing her purse on the way out of the apartment. Jack was left standing in the now empty apartment, confusion and hurt laced over his features. He stepped backwards, letting himself fall onto the large bed he shared with Isa. Jack stuck his hand into his pocket, rummaging around a bit before pulling out a small black box, popping it open to reveal the glistening sliver ring topped with diamonds.
