POEM STARTER
In a poem, write about a love triangle between three people.
Will you write from each person's perspective with unique voices, or omnisciently tell the whole story?
The Girl In White
He smiles at me like a loving bird
And picks me up like I could break
He uses his lips to kiss my check
And his words to soothe my aches
He tells me his love for me, with only a look
“This much?” I flutter my lashes
“Even more” he returns
in my mind
But then why—
When she walks by
He says he could die
If he’s not by her side
If he’s not at her door,
in her head,
in her mind and her heart.
I thought you loved me,
you said it with your eyes!
Your pupils told me
They widened in size.
My heart told me
That if I don’t have you I’ll—
Try
And find someone else but
elsewhere is gone
Here is where I wait
All day and night long
Until I can’t think straight
Until I run out of time
I will wait until you see we belong
But what if that doesn’t come?
What if you never see?
How—and everyone agrees- you are
PERFECT
For me
In this chess game,
I move first
And though black always wins,
I won’t stop till checkmate.
I am the girl in white
But I will let you bleed on me
I know you say your over but
I will put up a fight
Or I’ll let you be
I’ll try and stay away
I will try
But my mind is frail
And in all else
My heart will fail
I will suck in breaths
I cannot stand
My lips are dry
And now’s the time
To leave this place
And your love behind
To leave the what ifs
And spare the good byes.
For the only goodbye
Would from your lips meeting mine
And your heart expanding
And I feel like I could fly
So maybe there was a reason I didn’t get goodbye
Maybe because you never loved me
And maybe I’m not fine
