Write a story from the perspective of someone in this image (perhaps we cannot see them, but they're there).

Another day, another crash. These sightings used to horrify us humans but the more they came, the less we cared. Sort of like UK knife crime. These rare deaths we would hear on the news left us in pure shock. We’d hug our families and pray. But as they became the norm we became less affected by it, we no longer prayed.

These crashes were similar as we reacted the same way to these events beyond our control. Turns out we’re seen as a garbage dump for space life.

Yeah. They’d toss their old junk onto wherever on the planet. It was of great use to us, absolutely, but it also made it explicitly clear we’re of no threat, no matter how much of their garbage we collect, that fact will remain unchanged.

Regardless, it’s a good gig. The government originally only allowed the military to handle these crafts but the common occurrence changed that. Anyone, you or me, could work as a scavanger for the government. Sweet.
