How Did It Happen?
My friend and I blink up at the scene in confusion. We’ve been going back and forth with each other for hours, nearly getting into a genuine agreement before slamming back down.
“Bro I’m telling you, it was a freak flood wave.” Andrew chewed on a KitKat, taking bites out of it as if it were a sandwich, like a psycho.
“Why would I believe someone who can’t even eat normally?” I retort as I turn my attention back to the house. “Besides if it was a flood wave there would be damage. There is no damage.”
“Okay tornado then,” Andrew injects as if ignoring the last part of my sentence.
“There haven’t been any storms in months.”
“Look it had to be from some storm, I couldn’t imagine someone would build it like that.”
I shrug “Maybe they like living on the edge.”
As I’m fighting a smile, Andrew turns to me with a dead expression. “I have a good mind to slap you with this.” He waves the candy at me, causing a laugh to slip from my lips.
