How many days are left until tomorrow?
I started out with many,
people said; I wish I would've believed.
A mouth spoke, it said:
"days go by, but yours are many".
Then lost all of them, but one;
when I got carried away:
That day I found a man out in the city,
he spoke to me in prose, I heard;
his skin was black like wrapped in night,
I saw, he showed me,
he skipped that part; said I forgot,
I couldn't prove;
then bargained for lies my days.
His mouth spoke, it said:
"days go by, but yours are still too many",
then asked if he could borrow
another one instead.
He said he'll pay me back in full,
just a few more days, then he will prove.
I let him have the day he'd borrow;
said I agreed, he went out,
he took the days I'll be waiting too.
The trap was set, I now think to myself
how could he fooled me?
I was a prey, a game he knew how to play,
so he played while I got played.
I wish I knew back then so I could ran;
But never moved whenever he pursued me.
The mouth spoke, it said:
"days went by, but yours were many,
how did the young
whose days were many manage
to loose them all in a day?
I said that I got carried away,
by the man who spoke in prose,
lied and stole them all;
people say I started out with many;
I found myself
a day away to have none at all.
