Leaving You My Love
They lock eyes exchanging their neutral feeling of grief, knowing that they were never meant to be. With tears In their eyes, they hug. Neither wanting to be the first to let go, they hugged each other for what felt like ages. They melt into each others arms. Finally, they uncontiously agreed to let go. It felt as if they were betraying part of themselves. As solemn and freeing as it felt. They both sent each other their silent reassurances that this was the right choice. They turn their backs to each other in unison fighting the thought of their awaited regret. They begin to walk away from each other. Each step felt as if they were stepping on scorching hot steal. With each sizzle of the skin on their feet, begging them both to turn back, the women whipped her head around desperate to see the back of his head.
She cried “wait!”. The man turned around in shock, words he would otherwise knew no longer made any sense to him. He stood there speechless. “I can’t. I can’t leave you!” She cryed as tears ran down her flushed cheeks. “But you can, and you have to. We both know this “we” doesn’t and can’t work.” He said this as tears streamed down his cheeks, dropping onto the floor marking it with wet spots of sorrow. “But you are my love!” She cried with desperation in her voice. “That’s the problem you see, you are my love as well”. He said with the hearty boldness he’s often known for. “But fate has its own plans, and it doesn’t involve an “us”.” Know his tears were surging down his now tense cheek, as if his tears formed a vast lake obtaining an angry current. The women sunk to the ground with her head down in hopeless defeat. Silence filled the air. All they could hear was the “drip, drop” of the Womens tears as they burst onto the floor. The man was in great pain as he said “I must leave you my Love…. Goodbye”. He turned in disbelief. He walks away. For the women to never lay eyes on again. Forever gone. The women whispered despairingly to herself, “My love, why did you leave me?”.
