COMPETITION PROMPT
Write a poem on the theme of 'Lost and found'.
Stalemate
Give a snail a carrot
Laugh at it if you will
Alight with life and laughter
Tickle your hubris
And tell it you are better than the snail
Better than what you step on
But watch it eat without consuming
And writhe yourself to death
Forevermore
Let a dog lick your inner palm
Because it wants your hand and
Loves you so
Feel the way your nerves shoot through your body
The desperate dog
Is it pity you feel?
Do you look down
Or do you desire
To love so purely
Is it envy?
Yuo sea teh man lerning hiis first
Languayge
Ande in all certanty
He struggels
But
You understand
As if the words were all correct
And he shines through each
Deliberate mistake
And you see the color of his art
Reflected on the
Ink of his pen
Corner yourself
Stalemate
In your human kingliness
Watch the struggle for more
Inherited by each living creature
And in your wish to feel more human
You laugh
What joyous foolishness to learn how to eat a carrot
To love without a care in the world
And to be wrong with the unique precision of the human soul
Become Stillwater when you look upon the change in the world as if it’s nothing
The different dimensions of life as beneath you
Stalemate yourself in your own conventions
And find the moves without progress beseech you
And lose before you even begin to find
What winning is
It’s a stalemate
Of your own design
