WRITING OBSTACLE
Write a letter to a friend, from the perspective of someone living 100 years in the future.
What commonplace things might they mention that would surprise a reader now, and how can you use these to drive an interesting narrative?
Time.
Hey dearest friend, I am just writing to you to let you know I am thankful you were my friend for this long and I am blessed that you stayed for me. I am surprised i even made it this long, I remember when I didn’t think I could make it past 12 years old. Depression can take time from someone for so long they don’t know who they are anymore. I’m sorry you had to deal with me all these years and I’m sorry for the way I acted. I wish I could go back in time and change all the bad things I did and the bad friends I had, I wish I was happier before it was too late. I was out of control, crazy, time went by too fast and I wasn’t ready for the real world, i kept trying to get better but every time I did I would sink back into this deep deep depression where I would shut everyone out and just cry. I wish I could go back and apologize to everyone. I wish I could just go back in Time.
