Falling Apart
“I’m leaving”
Andrea’s keys scrape the counter and clink together as Tia grabs them and heads for the door.
“You are not leaving me!” Andrea’s voice darkens - a familiar tone - Tia is unbothered.
The screen door creaked loudly and slams shut in Andrea’s face.
Gravel crunches underneath Tia as she runs to the car parked out front.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Andrea is at the passenger window pounding on the glass as Tia backs out of the drive way.
“Tia listen to me!”
Andrea’s voice breaks, a panic rushes over her. Losing her husband was one thing but losing her daughter?
“Tia, get out of this car, what do you think your doing?”
The gray fog settles around the house as the lights disappear down the road. As the sky darkens to a black veil Andrea sits knowing her life will never be the same.
