What You Did
What did you do, man?
I don’t know.
Did you think you’d be great, Sam?
Leave me alone.
What are you telling yourself?
You think these things that you’re writing aren’t a waste, man?
You think they’ll give you fame and wealth?
It’s not like that, Sam, and you know that.
I’m trying to make myself better
You know better at hoping and praying and working hard—
You mean better at failing, yeah?
Where were you when you’re brother was killed?
You know he cared a lot about you,
But when he died weren’t you a little bit thrilled?
Wasn’t it your fault?
What did you do?
Stop this, Sam! You know I can’t trust you
You’re always telling me lies
Only telling me half-truths
Never acknowledging that some day
Some day I won’t need you
And you’ll lie to waste in the part of my brain
That died when I was a youth.
What did you say, man?
You won’t need me?
Ha! Clearly the side effects are showing from the pills you have, it thrills you, Sam.
Didn’t I tell you twice already?
If I’m dead you’re dead
Now isn’t that scary?
You think you can stop me?
Take this sharp knife
And I’ll show you who I am…
Now look what you did, man.
