My old boxy alarm hummed at me, and, eyes still sealed with sleep, I gave it a almighty thwack.

It was warm, wet and screamed at my touch, waking me from any dream I might have been having. I opened my eyes and saw an alien.

It looked like a kids balloon covered in slime and lit up with glowing green veins.

It had a tiny vertical mouth, open wide as it wailed. My hand had left a dark imprint, and what looked like tentacles were soothing it.

I scrambled backwards.

My hand was still covered in clear gel, and when I fell off the bed it smacked against the wall.

My whole room was glowing, and all my stuff was floating a few inches off the floor - the alien was hissing like a balloon and seemed angry. It floated too, and simply went out my window as though there were no glass.

The light went out and I heard the thud of things hitting the floor.

I scramble for the light and it’s glow shows nothing has changed. Was I dreaming?

Something tickles my side and I stand on wobbly legs to see white fur growing out of a damp spot on the wall…
