WRITING OBSTACLE
Write a letter to a friend, from the perspective of someone living 100 years in the future.
What commonplace things might they mention that would surprise a reader now, and how can you use these to drive an interesting narrative?
To Who has Seen That Friend Of Mine
To thy who’s seen that friend of mine,
Oh gosh its you i see
I’ve founded things that are benign
But you, its still to be
To who has seen that friend of mine
I could crawl from this despair
It’s been a hundred years to find
That the world has not been fair
To the one who calls my name asleep
i hope its still you I know
I hear the whispers in the deep
And I know your face has failed to grow
To thy who’s seen that friend of mine
I heard her gravestone spelt it rose
But oh Rosie how its been a time!
How could Rosie be a rose?
To who has seen that friend of mine
I know its time to say goodbye
I’ve founded things that are benign
But its time to cut the ties
